The homeschool resources page for the study of Astronomy.

  • Astronomy Lessons (FREE) from Science Explained - FREE! By the end of this course you'll have gain an understanding of astronomy to the level expected of a first-semester, university-level astronomy course but pretty light on the math. All in all, my lessons are designed to turn you into an amateur astronomer (minus the technical details you need to make or use a telescope). The course starts (started) in January but you can join in at any time and catch up.

  • Eric Weisstein's World of Astronomy
  • Free Astronomy Classes< - KidsAstronomy.com offers free online astronomy classes. Courses last 6-10 weeks, and include a final project, and a final online quiz. Grading is done by us, and you will be sent the final grade.
  • Light and Matter - physics and astronomy resources - Downloadable physics textbook series, and a planetarium applet.  
  • The Nine Planets -  an overview of the history, mythology, and current scientific knowledge of each of the planets and moons in our solar system

  • STARLAB Planetarium - We have free educational resources and lesson plans that prove valuable to many educators. Also, since I serve as an ambassador for NASA’s JPL, I notify individuals that sign up on our mailing list of free materials that NASA and JPL will ship to them at no cost (posters, stickers, books, etc.).
